This extension for The Thing - The Boardgame allows you to live the events that took place in Thule Station, the Norwegian station where it all started! As for the 1982 version, the extension allows you to relive the most tense moments in history, transporting you to the cinematographic film!
The central element of the game is based on the emulation properties of The Thing, which will hide its identity under a blanket of false humanity, but with substantial differences in the way they interact with the game and with your feelings.
Here are the key points of the extension:
-A new tray, new characters and new materials.
-A new end of part condition represented by the leak of the dog which will arrive at Outpost 31. If this happens, you can play your next part of the 1982 version with a dog chief dog (a dog that behaves differently long of the game).
-A new element in the game: teeth! The crew of the Thule station discovers that the alien cannot assimilate and duplicate metal parts, so that dental shutters become a way to know if a person is definitely human, but not if it is extraterrestrial. The test with the thread and the flame launcher disappears and pocket lamps are added with which it will be possible to carry out a test and watch the teeth of the other characters, by checking the presence or absence of plots.
-A new location is available for the thing: UFO! He represents the last hope of escape for the thing, as in the film. The final confrontation with the remaining humans will take place here. Of course, this is only an option, and just like the escape of dog mentioned above, it does not necessarily happen! Everything will depend on your behavior, because you can win or lose many ways!
In the 2011 film, as soon as they discovered what is happening, the behavior of people becomes more selfish, trying by all means to save their own lives. So we decided to try to include the possibility of a lonely escape, an element that will bring the level of distrust to the maximum! This also brings new mechanisms, such as the possibility of voluntarily sabotage vehicles even if you are human.
The extension will contain: a new tray, new characters, new cards and new tokens.
