Six Sojourns is a reimagining of Ryan Laukat's third published design, Eight-Minute Empire. It's a short area control game full of difficult choices, Strategy and creative tactics, and high interaction with players.

Your goal in Six Sojourns is to grow your family and expand their influence. Players take turns selecting one card from five on display. Each card has actions that allow players to build houses, gain ships, move, and gain new family members.

Cards also have special abilities and sets of icons that represent your family's expertise in various trades: cooking, carpentry, tailoring, shoemaking, art, blacksmithing, and jewelry. Each game you only select nine cards, and you'll be faced with substantial choices each turn as you focus on trades, abilities, or card.

Six Sojourns has a larger board and more cards than Eight-Minute Empire, in addition to many exciting new features.
People can be moved in groups, instead of one at a time, allowing for more dynamic gameplay.

You can now build ships to travel at sea, moving between regions. Players can also pay you to use your ships to travel on water.
Maritime spaces give the majority and goods.

Houses, which replace towns, are worth two checks, and only one house can be built in each space.
