DESCRIPTION

Take part in the power struggle between Afghan tribal leaders in the 19th century!

Pax Pamir simulates the political situation and power struggles between tribal leaders in Afghanistan during the 19th century. The players assume the role of 19th century Afghan leaders trying to forge a new state after the fall of the Durrani Empire. Western historians often call this period "The Great Game" because of the role played by the Europeans who tried to use Central Asia as the theatre of their own rivalries. In this game, these empires are considered strictly from the point of view of the Afghans who sought to manipulate the ferengi (foreigners) for their own purposes.

Players buy cards in a central market and then play those cards in front of them on a single row called the yard. Playing cards add units to the game card and provide access to additional actions that can be performed to disrupt other players and influence the course of the game. Although everyone builds their own row of cards, the game offers many ways for players to interfere with each other directly and indirectly.
