DESCRIPTION
Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile is a game of Strategy from one to six players where players will guide the course of history in an ancient country. They might attempt to strengthen the chancellor's power or plot to bring the kingdom to ruin. The consequences of one game will ripple through those that follow, changing the resources and actions future players might have at their disposal and even altering the game's basic victory condition.
At the end of each game of Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile, players will consider what happened in their game during the Chronicle phase. During this phase, the game board will be refocused around the game winner's territory, the victory condition may be adjusted, and new cards will be introduced into the deck based on how the previous game was won. When they complete this process, they will have advanced the history of their world by a generation and prepared the ground for the next crisis.
There is no pre-written narrative or predetermined endpoint. Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile is not a legacy game. Instead, this is a game about legacy where player choices will determine what happens next.
