Good Times in the Little Kingdom of Emera: During the reign of King Thedorius the Wise, wars, uprisings and other unpleasantness became a thing of the past. Thedorius always cared more about the well-being of his subjects than power or wealth. Therefore, only the noble who is capable of taking care of the citizens of Emara as well as Thedorius himself will become Thedorius' successor and wear the crown of Emara.

To test the skills of all aspirants, Thedorius and his advisors issue a practical challenge: anyone who can persuade the majority of the newly arrived citizens in the capital to support their claim will become the future king of Emara. To achieve this, stakeholders must respond to the needs of citizens and, above all, provide adequate housing for all. This means that promoting construction activities in the city will be one of the main tasks of the candidates.

Crown of Emara skillfully combines card actions with worker movement actions, allowing players to plan their turn carefully during their downtime. The two advisors available to each player move in two separate circles, forcing players to optimize each move. Additionally, two scoring tracks lead to a multi-dimensional style of play as only the lower score counts for victory and therefore both tracks must be advanced equally.
