Here I Stand: Wars of the Reformation 1517-1555 is the first game for over 25 years to cover the political and religious conflicts of Europe in the early 16th century. Few people realize that the greatest exploits of Martin Luther, Jean Calvin, Ignatius of Loyola, Henri VIII, Charles V, François Ier, Soliman the Magnificent, Ferdinand Magellan, Hernando Cortes and Nicolas Copernicus are all in this period 40 -year -old history. This game covers all the action of the period using a single game system based on maps that models both the political and religious conflicts of the period on a single point to point card.
There are six main powers in the game, each with a unique path to victory.
Here I Stand was to be the subject of a reprint in 2017, but on October 31, 2017 being the 500th anniversary of the publication by Martin Luther of his 95 theses, Ed Beach and his team of here Stand enthusiasts set up a series D 'Improvements compared to the original. - Revisions of more than 15 existing cards, including Copernicus, Master of Italy and Machiavelli, to allow a more exciting game and additional possibilities of diplomatic agreements.
- A new castle construction table is now used to solve home card games at the Mécène des Arts de la France.
- Several updates of Virgin Queen rules are integrated into Here I Stand , affecting the activation of minor powers, piracy, spice trade and foreign wars.
