DreamEscape is a hybrid choose-your-path-style narrative adventure and Cthulhu novella card game.
The great Cthulhu has trapped your sleeping spirit in the Dreamlands. Your dream self has broken into many fragments, scattered across the dream world. It's your task to recover these lost fragments, unravel the secrets of history, and survive long enough to find the right key and corresponding door to escape and wake up!
To win, you must avoid, adapt or overcome the many dangers of this nightmarish world. In this single-player survival horror RPG game, you must carefully manage your pool of skills and resources, find rare items, acquire secret knowledge, and use two unique powerful abilities - DĂ©jĂ vu and Lucid dreaming - to stay ahead of Cthulhu's minions.
Explore hundreds of unique story encounters in your quest to collect the Spirit Fragments and find a Dreamgate to allow you to wake up from the nightmare. Failure will lead to madness, forever locked in a dream in your own mind!
Dreamescape is a narrative exploration game based on story card encounters. Each encounter offers role-playing style choices that push the game in divergent directions so that the game evolves differently each time you play. Repeated play rewards your gaming experience as you discover different parts of the story puzzle. The odds of success are based on your skills, equipment, and knowledge you've acquired so far, with your memory from previous games guiding you to success!
There are 6 asymmetrical Dreamer characters to choose from, each with their own story to unravel. ~400 encounter cards, ~100 items and scholarship cards to discover combine to offer a very varied narrative experience.
The game features multiple levels of interwoven story arcs and plot lines to keep you busy and guessing every time you play. There are plenty of hidden puzzles, traps, and legends locked within the game waiting for you to discover them... but all knowledge comes at a price. The longer you live, the greater your chances of being driven to madness!
