DESCRIPTION
Salton Sea is a unique place in California, very close to the border with Mexico. The characteristics of this salty lake make it a unique place to generate geothermal energy, which takes advantage of the heat of the planet. In this field of intense geothermal activity, you will drill the soil and extract steam and hot water to obtain lithium and sell it as part of a modern industry, far from fossil fuels, which will allow you to lead the energy transition to a completely renewable future.
Designed by David Bernal and illustrated by Amelia Sales, Salton Sea can be appreciated alone or in a group of four players in sessions of approximately 120 minutes. During the game, players must manage their geothermal lithium extraction companies to obtain the greatest number of points. The extraction of this material and its subsequent treatment will be the engine of your businesses.
In turn, place one of your four engineers on one of the spaces available to take an action. There are three different action groups: industrial actions (which allow you to obtain an exploration permit, drill, extract, treat or repair machines), commercial actions (sell, acquire a contract and execute a contract) and management actions (research, purchase of shares, development of the business project or even financing). It's up to you to manage engineers at each stage of the game to make the most of your business.
However, there is no single way to success. The game will reward you for the exhausted land, the contracts executed, the short -term objectives, the development of the company or the progress of research. Do you control the power of the Salton Sea to create the most efficient geothermal company?
