DESCRIPTION
In 1845, Sir John Franklin led an expedition on behalf of the British Royal Navy to find and explore the last part of the North West Passage, whatever the cost. The Royal Navy gave Franklin two heavy ships (HMS Terror and HMS Erebus) filled with scientific equipment, 1,000 pounds, a crew of 128 men and enough food for three years. They left England in May and met whalers along the west coast of Greenland in August. There, they expected more favorable weather conditions for crossing the Lancaster Sound. Once the time has improved, they sailed to unknown waters, and no one has ever heard from them ...
Their disappearance provoked many disorders in public opinion and many British and American expeditions tried to find their trace. As heads of these expeditions in Expedition: Northwest Passage, players must venture into these dangerous arctic waters in order to discover the fate of Franklin and succeed where he failed: by finding the passage of the North West. The players divide their crew members into their ship or in their sled to carry out various actions such as exploration, movement or collection of indices on the location of the Franklin shipment.
As the game progresses, the seasons pass and parts of the sea are frozen, blocking the passage of ships. The players acquire victory points by bringing together clues, by mapping the area and-of course-discovering the passage from the North West. But to win the victory, you have to go back to Greenland in time!
