The period of the belligerent states was a pivotal period of Chinese history, marked by constant wars, of important bureaucratic and military reforms and the consolidation of power between rival states. The game takes place around 260 BC. AD, an era when the seven kingdoms in war - Yan, Zhao, Han, Wei, Qi, Chu and Qin - were locked in a fierce conflict, both against each other and against nomadic groups like the Xiongnu, which represented a threat from the North.

Although sections of the Great Wall of China were built in the 8th century BC, the last years of the Combining States period saw an increase in defensive construction projects.

Before the Qin ultimately united the kingdoms, large fortifications, watchtowers and new sections of the wall were erected to strengthen the defenses.

Game

In Tianxia, the players play the role of chiefs of noble families who want to gain prestige, as well as favors from the powerful leaders who govern the seven kingdoms at war. The game lasts four laps, during which you install governors in the regions, strengthen the power of rival rival houses and therefore their favor. You also sell goods to merchant ships that sail on the Chinese coasts to gain wealth and various other advantages. However, we must not forget the nomadic warriors who represent a constant threat to the northern borders of the seven kingdoms. Thus, you must train soldiers and build walls and towers to weaken the invaders and protect your interests, while gaining prestige. Each turn, the nomads (XionGNU) advance towards the borders of the seven kingdoms and bring together an even greater number. When they reach the border, a battle takes place that affects all players. At the end of the game, the player who was the best governor, politician, merchant and protector becomes the winner!
