DESCRIPTION

Tuscany, 1259. Like the riches of crafts and foreign trade raised urban families in northern Italy over Terrian lords, rivalries inside and between their cities were hardened in conflict between two Large parties. Ghibellins aligned with the Hohenstaufen imperial dynasty which has ostensibly reigned over Italy, while Guelphs supports the rival imperial suitors and the greatest challenger to the authority of each emperor, the Pope. If a faction gained advantage, others were united to resist.

The Comuniums (Republics) of Florence (Florence) and Siena dominated the interior of Tuscany at the head of these competing alliances. While the Guelphs sealed their control of the population of Firenze, Ghibelline Siena turned to King Hohenstaufen Manfredi of Sicily for strengthening. Rebellions and local reprisals increased on each side, while political exiles stirred the pot. After Manfredi sent German knights to protect his loyal Tuscans, Firenze gathered his people and his allies to walk on his own, who responded with his own major army. Pisa and Lucca, Lombardy and Orvieto joined. Guelph and Ghibelline, in September 1260, finally clashed en masse in the center of Tuscany, in Montaperti, which gave rise to a bloody Florentine defeat. But when the exiles Gibelins returned as masters of Firenze, his guys rallied to Lucca and Arezzo, presage an eternal conflagration.

Inferno, the third volume of the Levy & Campaign series by Volko Ruhnke, ignites the Cauldron of the Tuscan War of the 13th century, a conflict of factions fueled by gold guilders and the teeming populations of promising cities and prosperous valleys. The Italian expert Enrico Acerbi gives life to the medieval operating system accessible from Volko. Gathering transport and Provender may not be the challenge here as the sudden betrayal of rebellious cities and castles along the key roads. The Italian looters of Berrovieri Cavaliers, the famous elite crossbowmen, and the distinctive palvesari shield carriers are only some of the inhabitants unique of this volume. Gather, go up, and find who the blood is that will make the Arbia red!
