Hex Effects is a take that style card game with hexes (which you must eliminate) and cures (which deal with hexes but can cause you to have more). It’s an easy-to-learn game with original illustrations from Pillbox Games. It is based on the game Side Effects.
Start by dealing four Hex cards to each player, face up, in a space in front of them called their "Shadow." The first player to deal with all the hexagons in their shadow wins the game.
The rest of the Hex cards are shuffled with the larger deck. Next, deal four cards to each player (hidden in the hand). Start your turn by drawing two cards. You can take two actions on your turn. If you have a Remedy card in your hand that treats one of your spells, you can place it on this hexagon. You are now closer to winning — but be careful! Each remedy contains a list of side effects (other spells) that you are now vulnerable to receiving from other players on their turn.
The game continues until one person has dealt with all the spells in their shadow.
