Hubris: Twilight of the Hellenistic World puts players in the shoes of the Hellenistic kings of the 2nd century BC, heirs to the famous successors who fought the empire of Alexander the Great for over 40 years, until their decline. The world they live in is different in many ways because, under the Macedonian kings, the Eastern Mediterranean saw a boom in urban life and an unprecedented sharing and cross-fertilization of culture, but the dominant theme remains great power rivalries and endemic warfare.
