DESCRIPTION
Return to Greece in 370 BCE on the island of Kos. Hippocrates has just died and this leads to a lot of doubts about the sustainability of its medical activities. Like one of his successors, you lead a team of doctors in order to perpetuate the treatment of patients in the temple of Asclepius, later known as the first hospital in history. Be the right successor to Hippocrates and increase your reputation, so patients from all over the Mediterranean will come with the hope of receiving the best treatment ever.
The game lasts four laps, with each round divided into five phases:
1. Kalosorisma - Each player welcomes up to three patients in his hospital. You must choose your patients carefully because all patients need urgent help, and some can be easier to treat than others, but make sure to help the most in need or you will lose your reputation as doctor.
2. Pliromi - You must pay your doctors or risk their departure.
3. Stratologisi - In this phase, players are trying to hire new doctors and buy medication kits. If a player gets both, he receives a bonus.
4. Therapeia - It's time to treat patients. Players must think carefully and connect the right patients to the right doctors to maximize their strengths.
5. Exist - The players count the victory and reputation points and prepare the table for the next round.
Hippocrates combines auction, placement of tiles, resource management, and even more to create an exciting mixture that will challenge each player to better manage their patients and try to become a worthy successor to Hippocrates.
