In the board game Shadowrun: Takedown, you and your friends take on the role of runners, serving as mercenaries and undeniable assets for powerful megacorporations. The Corps has hired you and your team to handle secret tasks they prefer not to have on their official payroll. Take on these missions, survive, and strive to reach legendary status with 1-4 players per copy of the game.

Over the course of the campaign, players will have the opportunity to evolve their racers to suit their playstyle, whether it's hacking, sneaking, or fighting. Players can obtain equipment to increase their abilities or enhance their bodies with built-in cyberware and magical enhancements. The game features a balanced range of character advancements and equipment, allowing characters to develop over the course of an increasingly difficult campaign.

Players select their roles, each providing unique stats that influence the gameplay of all characters. This game introduces the role of the Mastermind, the runner who keeps an eye on everything, seeing things that others cannot. The Mastermind can grant special bonuses to players during missions, as well as their own role-specific perks.
