Wrapped in myths and unforeseen dangers, the vast ocean calls to those who have the courage to explore its secrets. What wonders lie beyond the horizon? In The Odyssey, players navigate a mysterious ocean in this cooperative tile-laying game. Extend your route with “path” cards or discover a wonder by meeting its requirements. Admire these fantastic landscapes without encountering too many dangers, so you can safely complete your wonderful journey! On each turn, the active player may draw two “route” cards and place them so as to extend the dotted line indicating their ship’s course. They may also choose to place one of the two available “wonders” by covering the specific set of required encounter icons shown on the wonder, while observing any additional placement restrictions associated with it. When no more cards can be placed, the game ends. Count the number of encounter icons of each type still visible: if this number exceeds the threshold set for that type, you immediately lose. Otherwise, calculate your journey’s score. You earn points for each path segment, for icons other than whirlpools, and if all the wonders have been placed. You lose points for unplaced wonders and visible whirlpools. Compare your final score with the table provided to determine the fate of your epic journey!
