DESCRIPTION

Fighters of the Pacific contains everything you need to play battle hours above the Pacific Ocean: a huge modular tray where aircraft carriers, destroyers and a large number of planes will compete. The game offers 10 different scenarios with which to play, all also playable in solo mode.

The aircraft carrier and the planes represent the forces of 4 real aircraft carriers fighting in 1942. On the Japanese side, there are the Akagi and the Kaga, who participated in the attack on Pearl-Harbor and the Battle of Midway . On the American side, there is the USS Hornet and the USS Yorktown, which also participated in the Dolittle Raid and the Midway Battle.

The players direct each plane in several squadrons of hunters and bombers to carry out attacks on aircraft carriers and enemy island bases. No dice and rules are necessary, only dozens of planes and ships! A quick and rationalized game mechanics plunges players into the heart of the battle: they move each plane individually on a hexagonal grid, and when they maneuver to get an enemy plane in their sights, they must try to dodge or else to undergo damage. Some planes can use torpedoes and bombs destroy ships and grounds on the ground.

Each plane has its own attributes in terms of speed, shielding and special capacities, and each piece is illustrated as close as possible to its historic counterpart to maximize immersion!
