DESCRIPTION

Nevsky: Teutons and Rus in collision, 1240-1242 is a war game on the historical confrontation between the Latin teutonic and Russian orthodox powers along the Baltic border in the middle of the 13th century. This is the first volume of the Levy & Campaign Series series by GMT Games, which depicts military operations in a variety of pre -industrial conflicts. In Nevsky, the players raise and equip their armies, then provide them and maneuver them to ravage or conquer enemy territory or defeat enemy forces in combat. Feudal policy obliges a range of lords and vassals to serve on the countryside, but only for limited periods. Players must keep an eye on the calendar and reward the lords to keep their armies on the field.

Nevsky is a friendly lonely or can add a rules option with screens that hide what the lords of the two Levy players. A second option adds details concerning the conditions of service of the vassal forces.

In Nevsky, two players play the roles of "Russians" and "Teutons" respectively. The Russians represent the rich city-state of Novgorod and its allies. Teutons include German and Danish landowners, including Teutonic Order, who widen a Baltic domination.

Every 40 days, the parties will take various lords and vassals and their forces, transport and capacities, supported by higher political authorities - a papal legate for the Teutons and the municipal council of Novgorod (Veche) for the Russians. Each lord is evaluated for loyalty, the seigneury, the service and the command and exposes his forces and his assets on a carpet. Wooden pieces represent units of knights, mounted sergeants, light and Asian cavalry, men from arms and serfs and unarmed militiamen. Property includes transport counters such as carts, boats and sleds; proven to feed the army; And coin to pay for a longer service or booty captured by ravaging or conquering enemy regions.

The players then plan and order a campaign for these 40 days with the lords who gathered. To represent the limits of communications on medieval operations, control card stacks engage players to activate the lords in a sequence which can meet the needs of the developing situation or not. The cylinder pieces on the map show the maneuvers of the lords, while the markers on a feudal calendar show how long the lords will serve, influenced by success or failure in their campaigns. When the lords compete in a battle on the field or storm a castle, the players spray the carpets of their lords on the left, right, in the center, and reserve and try to confuse the enemy. Various events of events and capacities reveal cultural and technological particularities that influence sample, campaign and combat.
