In Grimcoven, as a player, you will increase your power by accepting Lament from fallen enemies. While this will add a lot of benefits, it will also corrupt you and have some negative benefits.
Renegade Hunter HATES whining and rejects it 100%.
In general, Hunters use lament and try to find a balance between being corrupted and having enough power to defeat evil. But Renegade Hunter hates everything Lament touches, but he's too weak to fight the bosses, so instead he goes against the Hunters.
So one of the corruption cards can trigger it by entering combat and trying to hunt you down, because you are corrupted by Lament to some extent - even if you have full control over it and use it to kill the boss that is terrorizing the city.
