DESCRIPTION

In Codex Naturalis, you must continue the work of the lighting monk Tybor Kwelein, by assembling the pages of a manuscript that lists living species in primary forests. Can you bring the pages together in the best possible order? And are you ready to sacrifice a species to develop your manuscript?

In the game, each player begins with a single card on the table, a card that shows a combination of the four possible resources in the middle of the card, in the corners of the card, or both. Players also have two resource cards and a gold card in hand, while two of each type of card are visible on the table.

On a tower, you place a card of your hand riding the corners of one or more cards that you already have at stake. Your starting card at the four overlapping corners, while the resource and gold cards have only three.

  • Resource cards have no cost to play, and they often represent symbols of resources in their corners.
  • Gold cards deliver points when they are played, but they often need resources, for example, three mushrooms or two plants/an animal/an insect, and you must have these visible resources in your manuscript when You play the gold card. You score points from this card immediately, with certain cards with a fixed value and others a variable depending on how much of a certain symbol are displayed or how many corners you have covered this tower.
  • If you wish, you can play a card from your hand facing down; Such a card has four corners and a resource, but does not provide points. After playing, draw a visible face card or the top of each game to fill your hand.

When a player reaches 20 points, you finish the tour, and each player takes an additional turn. The players then score points according to their correspondence with two public objective cards and a secret objectives card, after which the player with the most points wins.
