Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization is the new edition of Through The Ages: A Story of Civilization, with many small and large changes in the game cards during its three ages and extended changes in military functioning.
Through The Ages is a civilization construction game. Each player tries to build the best civilization thanks to a prudent management of resources, to discover new technologies, to the election of good leaders, to the construction of wonders and to maintain a strong army. Weakness in any field can be exploited by your opponents. The game takes place through the ages starting at the age of antiquity and ending in modern age.
One of the main TTA mechanisms is the writing of cards. Technologies, wonders and leaders come into play and become easier to draw longer they are at stake. To use technology, you will need enough science to discover it, enough food to create a population and Sufficient resources (ore) to build the building to use it. While balancing the resources necessary to advance your technology, you must also build an army. The army is built in the same way as civil buildings. Players who have a weak army will be prey to other players. There is no card in the game, so you cannot lose territory, but players with a higher army will fly resources, science, will kill leaders, will take the population or culture. It is very difficult to win with a large soldier, but it is very easy to lose because of a weakness.
The victory is obtained by the player whose nation has the most culture at the end of modern age.
