DESCRIPTION

You are a head of the family in an Italian city-state, a city led by a weak and corrupt court. You have to manipulate, bluff and bribe your way to power. Your goal is to destroy the influence of all other families, forcing them to exile. Only one family will survive ...

In Cut, you want to be the last player with influence in the game, the influence being represented by character cards in the face hidden in your game area.

Each player starts the game with two piece And two influences, that is to say two character cards face hidden; The card game fifteen consists of three copies of five different characters, each with a unique set of powers:

  • Duke: Take three piece of the treasure. Prevent someone from taking foreign help.
  • Assassin: Pay three piece And try to murder the character of another player.
  • Contenta: Block an attempted assassination against yourself.
  • Captain: Take two piece from another player or prevent someone from stealing you piece.
  • Ambassador: Pull two character cards from the courtyard (the deck), choose which (if necessary) exchange with your characters face hidden, then turn two. Prevent someone from stealing you piece.

In turn, you can perform one of the actions listed above, whatever the characters you really have in front of you, or you can perform one of the following three actions:

  • Income: Take a Treasury piece.
  • Help abroad: Take two piece of the treasure.
  • Cut: Pay seven piece And launch a blow against an opponent, forcing this player to lose an influence. (If you have ten piece Or more, you must perform this action.)

When you carry out one of the actions of the character, whether actively in turn or defensively in response to someone else's action, the action of this character automatically succeeds , unless An opponent challenges you. In this case, if you cannot (or not) reveal the appropriate character, you lose an influence, turning one of your characters upwards. The characters face visible cannot be used, and if your two characters are visible, you are out of the game.

If you have the character in question and choose to reveal it, the opponent loses an influence, then you mix this character in the deck and draw a new one, perhaps by obtaining the same character again and perhaps not.

The last player to still have an influence-that is to say a character in front of hidden-wins the game!

A new optional character called the Inquisitor has been added (currently, the only English edition with the Inquisitor included is the Kickstarter version of Indie Boards & Cards. Copies in stores may not be the Kickstarter versions and can only be the basic game). Inquisitive character cards can be used to replace ambassador cards.

  • Inquisitor: Pull a character card from the short game and choose to exchange it or not with one of your characters facing hidden. Or force an opponent to show you one of his character cards (his choice which). If you wish, you can force them to draw a new card from the Court game. They then mix the old card in the courtyard game. Prevent someone from stealing you piece.
