DESCRIPTION

Conflicts of Normans and their successors 1053-1265

The Normans, and their successors, had a great impact on history. The Normans, from Nortmann (North), were at the origin of the Viking looters who settled in what would be today the north of France. The Normans have gained territories as far as southern Italy and Sicily, and modern Syria. They were crusaders, kings, princes and scoundrels. They started as looters from the North who were fighting on foot and turned into dukes, kings and princes who were fighting on horseback.

How many games include a battle against a papal army? Very few, then the Norman conquests visit Italy and the Count Normand of Puglia fights with the Pope and the capture. The extension of the definition to include the Norwegian King Harald (III) Hardrada (undoubtedly a man from the North) and his invasion of England allows us to include the three battles for the throne of England in 1066, Y understood the most famous Norman Guillaume the Conqueror and his invasion of England. Then we meet two sons of Guillaume I, Duke of Normandy and King of England, who competed for his lands after his death. We finish with the war of the barons between the great-great-arre-granary of Guillaume I, Henri III, and his barons, led by Simon de Montfort.

Battles include:

  • CIVITATE June 18, 1053 - The Normans of Sicily and southern Italy compete with the Pope and his allies.
  • Fulford, September 20, 1066 - The Norwegians (Vikings) come to claim the throne of England. The noble Saxons lift their lifting and fight in the north of England.
  • Stamford Bridge, September 25, 1066 - King Saxon Harold II rushes north and catches the Norwegian invaders with their downstream pants.
  • Hastings, October 14, 1066 - King Saxon Harold II intends to talk about the Norman invasion of England and rushes south. Facing Guillaume, Duke of Normandy, on a hill in the south of England, Harold learns that the arrows are pointed.
  • Tinchebrai, September 28, 1106 - In the absence of primogenitarian, two of Guillaume's children compete for his inheritance. King Henri I of England and Robert, Duke of Normandy, compete in Normandy.
  • Lewes, May 14, 1264 : King Henri III, great-great-grandson of Henri I, and a coalition of his barons compete about Baronnial Rights.
  • Evesham, August 4, 1265 : Édouard (later Édouard I, the hammer of the Scottish) fights against Simon de Monfort to release his father, King Henri III.

This game will use 9/16 "pawns, and not traditional pawns of 1/2".
