DESCRIPTION
*** BE CAREFUL, USED GAME ***
In Citadelles, players take new roles each turn to represent the characters they hire in order to help them acquire gold and erect buildings. The game ends at the end of a tour in which a player erects his eighth building. The players then accumulate their points, and the player with the highest score wins.
The players start with a number of construction cards in their hand; Buildings come in five colors, purple buildings generally have a special capacity and other colored buildings offering an advantage when you play particular characters. At the start of each round, the player who was the king of the previous round dismisses one of the eight random character cards, chooses one, then passes the cards to the next player, etc. Until each player has secretly chose a character. Each character has a special capacity, and the usefulness of any character depends on your situation, and that of your opponents. The characters then carry out their actions in the digital order: the assassin eliminating another character for the tour, the flying thief all the gold of another character, the magician exchanging construction cards with another player, the Lord of war possibly destroyed a building at stake, and so on.
During a tour, a player wins two or more gold (or draws two construction cards then spreads one), then possibly built a building (or up to three if you played the architect this tour). Buildings cost gold equal to the number of symbols on them, and each building is worth a number of points. In addition to the points of the buildings, at the end of the game a player scores bonus points to have eight buildings or buildings of all five colors.
