DESCRIPTION

Of the author :

"Sometimes the history of a nation can be defined by the relationship between two individuals. The 1960 election is the story of two men, John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon. One is the descendant of a rich and politically powerful family from New England. The other is the son of a Quaker grocer in Whittier, California. Although they belong to opposite political parties, they start as friends. The complex development of this friendship, however, formed a Pivot presidential election and threw a long shadow on American history for the rest of the 20th century.

In 1960: Kennedy against Nixon, you assume the role of one of these great protagonists who compete for the right to conduct his country at the heart of the Cold War. However, it is not only foreign policy that poses a challenge to American leadership; It is also an era of great social upheavals and progress. While the United States continues to rely on the promise of its foundation, candidates must face the issue of civil rights and balance its positions on social justice with the need for precious electoral votes from the South. Of course, the omnipresent question of the economy is also arising again, and Nixon and Kennedy will compete to be candidates with pocket books of voters in mind.

The struggle is disputed on an electoral map of the United States as it was in 1960, a map where Louisiana and Florida share the same number of electoral votes, as are California and Pennsylvania. Using a card -based game system, all the major events that have shaped the campaign are represented: Nixon's lazy shaving, the late approval of President Eisenhower, and the "Catholic question" are all included as cards 'Specific events. The famous television debates and the last electoral campaign are each treated with their own subsystems. The candidates compete for the electoral votes of each State using the campaign points in the four different regions of the country. At the same time, they must take momentum by dominating the challenges of the hour and trying to take control of the waves.

As is the case for any electoral campaign, the challenge is to adapt your match plan as the field escapes you. There is never enough resources or time to do everything, but you have to make difficult decisions to propel yourself to the White House. This quick strategy game for two players challenges you to run for the most powerful elective office in the world, to one of its most unique crossroads. Are you going to recreate the story, or rewrite it? 1960: Kennedy against Nixon gives you the opportunity to make both.»
